Fruto de sus infortunadas experiencias en el extranjero es "El jugador", de Fiódor Dostoievski, uno de los novelistas que con más profundidad y tino ha hecho el análisis del alma humana. La pasión por el juego fue la causa de su ruina, pero también le permitió trasladar al papel todos los efectos sicológicos que conducen a este vicio y que se derivan de él. La descripción que hace Dostoievski de los distintos tipos, femeninos y masculinos, que se mueven en la sala de juego crea una atmósfera de un realismo escalofriante, en un ambiente impregnado de intrigas y pasiones. |
