La Casa de Moneda de Bogotá es un lugar emblemático para los colombianos. En esta antigua edificación de Santafé de Bogotá se inició la acuñación de monedas hace más de cuatrocientos años y aquí se continuó acuñando hasta 1987, cuando la casa ya se había abierto al público para exhibir la Colección Numismática desde 1962. La reapertura del museo tras un período de rediseño integral tiene un significado especial por cuanto coincide de manera exacta con la celebración de los cien años de la fundación del Banco de la República, el 23 de julio de 1923. El nuevo Museo Casa de Moneda presenta al público una visión renovada. En un recorrido por sus salas de exposición los visitantes encontrarán un relato articulado en torno a las formas en las que a través del tiempo hemos dado valor a diferentes objetos e ideas en el territorio que es hoy nuestro país. |
